Media Release – 11 June 2018
The Chair of RDA FNQ&TS, David Kempton announced today that the incumbent CEO, Jann Crase, was departing the organization to take up another opportunity in the region, with RDA FNQ&TS bolstering its search for a new CEO to take the organization forward.
“Jann has been with RDA since 2012 and the CEO since 2015. We have greatly valued the contribution she has made to the organization and to the region” Mr Kempton said.
“Its bittersweet to leave an organization that you have been with for such a long time and all of the amazing friends, colleagues and stakeholders that you got to know and work with over the years. But it was the right time to move on and the opportunity to work on projects across Northern Australia was the perfect next step” Ms Crase said. Jann will be taking up the role of Project Manager with the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility in August.
“We are in a very positive and healthy position both financially and organizationally going forward. Our core Federal funding is committed to the end of 2020 and we are really ready to advance our reinvigorated agenda with a concerted focus on project delivery across the region in partnership with our regional stakeholders” Mr Kempton continued.
Ms Crase thanked her outstanding staff, Meryl Slater and Rachel Burgess, as well as the Chair, Committee and previous Chair, Allan Dale, for their support during her tenure.
“I wish RDA every success in the future and I am confident the Chair and the Committee with the new CEO will deliver even greater outcomes for the region” she concluded.
Key RDA FNQ&TS activities include:
- Facilitating the Cape York Region Package – in its final delivery stages with nearly 200km of the Peninsula Development Road sealed by the middle of 2019 as well as investment in $60m worth of Indigenous community infrastructure projects across the Cape.
- Securing over $72m of Federal project investment – advising and providing support for regional projects through the Building Better Regions Fund, National Stronger Regions Fund and RDA Fund.
- Water infrastructure and water planning – providing input and supporting the outcomes of the Cape York Water Plan, the Lakeland Feasibility Study, Nullinga Business Case, Mitchell River Water Resource Development Study and Southern Atherton Tablelands Irrigation Development projects.
